Fandango has released the teaser trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s new film Django Unchained, with a call to action at the end encouraging movie fans to sign up for alerts about the film.

Django Unchained which features a strong lineup of stars including Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio,
Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington, Don Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson doesn’t hit theaters until Christmas 2012, but for the first time ever, Fandango is prompting moviegoers to get news and updates about the film ahead of time by signing up Fandango’s Fan Alerts as a part of an online campaign.

If you are a Fandango subscriber, the teaser trailer landed in your inbox this morning with a link that directed you a page with the clip, as well as information about Fandango’s Fan Alerts.

Fandango’s Fan Alerts provides fans with news of advance ticketing for “Django” the minute they are made available. In addition, those who sign up will have a chance to win tickets to the film’s world premiere.

The film directed by Quentin Tarantino and from The Weinstein Company/Columbia Pictures is set in the South two years before the Civil War, and follows a slave named Django (played by Jamie Foxx) whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz).

Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and Django has to lead him to his bounty.Sony Announces an Interactive Book Controller, New Games at E3 2012 The trailer itself also urges fans to visit its Facebook page, which already has more than 12,000 fans.
