We’ve all had ideas for what we think would be a great mobile application, but few of us have the savvy to build one. These floating ideas don’t go anywhere, until now. AppStori allows consumers to have their say in developing mobile applications. It’s crowdfunding, but more interactive.

Where other services allow funding in a similar manner, AppStori is specifically for mobile applications. For example, KickStarter lets you contribute and receive the product once it’s complete Appstori allows you to interact with developers already working on ideas that may be similar to yours. You can offer input and have access to the application while it’s in beta. This allows developers to gain a following before their apps hit the market, and creates apps that are more unique and functional to a specific niche.

Co-founder, Arie Abecassis realized that there wasn’t much transparency for how applications come to market. “We wanted to allow consumers to develop relationships with the developers, everything from product feedback and data testing,” said Arie.

The service is free, and after registering you have access to applications at various stages. To become a beta-tester simply click on each AppStori’s “Become a Beta-Tester” button. Engagement before the applications hit the app store allows developers to have a user-base before releasing their app. Once the application is out of beta, they already have fans evangelizing via social media.

Currently entertainment applications are among the most popular. At the top this week is Billy Bong, a game that revolves around a microorganism whose town is being attacked by “minions.” The player must kill the minions before they kill you.

In addition to collaborating with developers, users can also bounce ideas off each other in the comment section. You can also follow an app’s progress and get notifications about their achievements.
